North American’s title underwriting network operates nationally under a single banner, NATIC. NATIC is authorized to do business in over 20 states, many of the same states where NATC also operates. Additionally, NATIC is authorized in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wyoming. NATIC is among the top title underwriters in the United States with gross revenues well over $61,000,000 in fiscal 2009 and a surplus to policyholders in excess of $48,000,000 as of September 30, 2009. NATIC has been recognized by LACE Financial (an independent title insurance underwriter rating service) as having one of the best financial conditions among its peers. NATIC has also undergone rigorous, quantitative analysis by Demotech, Inc. (another independent rating service) and Demotech has concluded time and again that NATIC deserves a rating of “A Prime Unsurpassed.” Such a rating means that regardless of economic downturns or deteriorations of insurance cycles, NATIC possesses unsurpassed financial strength and stability. The rating also indicates that NATIC is strongly recommended for commercial real estate transactions because of our financial resources, significant in-house capacity and expertise, as well as adequate placement of reinsurance coverage.
